About sleepinghedgehog

Personal growth, taken seriously.

An international platform where learning adapts to the person, not the other way around.

Since 2017, sleepinghedgehog has been connecting learners from across the world with instructors who treat education as a craft. We built this platform because generic courses rarely match how people actually learn — at different speeds, with different goals, in different contexts.

What shapes us

Three ideas we refuse to compromise on

The person before the programme

Every learner arrives with a different history. We start by understanding where someone is — not where a syllabus assumes they should be. Group sessions are structured around shared challenges, not just shared topics.

Instructors as thinking partners

Our instructors don't just deliver content. They ask questions, push back on assumptions, and stay involved between sessions. The relationship between learner and instructor is the actual mechanism of change.

Adaptation over repetition

If a method isn't working, we change the method — not the goal. Learning paths are reviewed regularly, and individual sessions can shift direction when the original plan stops serving the learner.

How it works in practice

The path from first session to lasting change

  • Intake conversation

Before any learning begins, we spend time understanding where you are now — what's working, what isn't, and what you're genuinely trying to change. This isn't a sales call. It's a diagnostic.

  • Path design

Based on the intake, we map a learning structure — whether that's individual sessions, a group cohort, or a blend of both. Timelines are realistic. Milestones are specific, not motivational.

  • Live instruction

Sessions run in real time — no pre-recorded lectures to watch alone. Instructors adjust pacing, depth, and focus based on what emerges in the room. Group sessions are kept small enough for real dialogue.

  • Review and recalibration

Every four weeks, we revisit the plan. Progress is measured against the original goals — and if those goals have evolved, the path evolves with them.

What learners typically notice

Outcomes vary by person and goal. But across our learner base, a few patterns appear consistently — not as guarantees, but as what tends to happen when people stay engaged with the process.

68% report clearer decision-making within 8 weeks
4.1× more likely to complete goals with a live instructor
38 countries represented in active cohorts
91% of learners continue beyond their first programme

Instructors who chose this work deliberately

Everyone on our team has worked outside of education before joining Sleepinghedgehog. That background shapes how they teach — with less theory, more recognition of what actually gets in the way.

Instructor Orla Feeney
Orla Feeney
Lead Instructor — Behavioural Patterns

Orla spent twelve years in organisational psychology before moving into direct instruction. She runs group cohorts focused on habit formation and decision-making under pressure.

Her sessions draw heavily on cognitive load research and real-world case analysis. Learners describe her approach as demanding but unusually clear.

Instructor Tobias Wren
Tobias Wren
Instructor — Strategic Thinking

Tobias works with learners navigating significant career or life transitions. His individual sessions are structured around frameworks that hold up under real pressure, not just in theory.

He is particularly effective with learners who already know what they want but keep stalling on execution. He treats that gap as a solvable problem.

Instructor Amara Nwosu
Amara Nwosu
Instructor — Communication and Presence

Amara focuses on how people express themselves in high-stakes situations — presentations, difficult conversations, and environments where clarity matters more than volume.

Her background includes broadcast journalism and cross-cultural facilitation across four continents. She adapts her approach significantly based on cultural context.
